Knödel

Southtyrolean Knödel are a traditional and unique  food in our area, they
are easily cooked, cheap and yummy.
My great-grandmother used to cook Knödel three or four times a week for her
family of 15.
There are many different types of Knödel with ham, with cheese, with
spinach...
Ingredients(for 4 people):

200 g old and hard white  bread cut into cubes
40 g flour
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives and/or onion
3 eggs
Salt and pepper

Preparation:
Put bread, flour, salt, pepper and chives together and mix them with your
hands.
Then add the eggs and keep on mixing till it is a smooth dough(you can put some milk in it, than it goes a bit easier).
Now you can let the dough rest for some minutes and  put a big pot with water
on the cooker.
Then you have to shape balls with the prepaired dough, roll them in your hands,
if you want them with cheese put a cube of hard cheese inside them.
( this part needs some exercise, they have to become firm balls smaller than
tennis balls and bigger than ping-pong balls).
Then you can put them into the boiled water and cook them for 10 minutes. You
can serve them with the water as a soup or take them out of the water.
You don´t need a knife you can cut them with your fork.I prefer eating them
this way: cut the Knödel in two pieces, put some Parmesan shavings, chives
and melted butter on it.

Me and my cousins

This is a picture of my two cousins Hannes (14 years old)and his sister Barbara(11), my sister Jasmin(13) and me , it was taken on my 18th birthday. We four are very close...maybe closer than some siblings are.Nearly every sunday we spend the afternoon together with our mothers, my two other aunts and my grandma chatting and having fun...it´s always the best day of the week.

It´s the thought that counts...isn´t it?

Sorry for not having posted so long! As you know, I´m always busy. April and May are two busy birthday-months in my family and after all the bank problems, I had to use my eastermoney( 60 $) for myself instead of sending it to the poor families in Alabama. :(
Today was the annual sport-day in our school, so we were outside in the sun all morning long, it´s beginning to be hot now, we sweated a lot but we had a good time.
This video is made by my classmate and it shows our tipical day at school :

A signed book and closed banks

My blog is still under construction, but day by day I learn new things about blogging :)
This morning a french author came to our school and spoke about her novel "orages" and afterwards she
signed my book, it was my first book signed by the author. The bank in our town is closed in the afternoon, so my best friend and I decidedto take our bikes and go to the bank in our neighborvillage, because I wanted to send some money to families in Alabama who were hit by the tornados and lost their houses.BUT THE BANK WAS CLOSED TOO! Nevertheless we had a good time biking and chatting!
